855 cover 1893 image1893, trompe l'oeil "postal card" from the Columbian Exposition, an advertising card for an exhibit of artificial glass eyes at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago. The images of the 1885 Jefferson postal card as well as the 5¢ Garfield (#205) and 1¢ Franklin (#212), the registration label and all the various transit postmarks and written addresses are all printed by multi-color lithography. The reverse features an ad for the manufacturer. This piece is without question the most outstanding example of its type and a rare item from this popular world's fair. (Image)

856 cover 1906.1108 image1906, large multicolor Christmas envelope, with image of Santa, sled and reindeer and Santa Claus Post Office North Pole "stamp" image at UR. Fully illustrated on reverse with additional Christmas scenes. Pair of l¢ Franklins (#300) tied by Poughkeepsie, NY CDS, Nov. 8, 1906. As expected with these large envelopes, there is some creasing and tears (please see the photos), but overall the cover is intact and displays beautifully. Very scarce postally used. (Image)

Otay.", Samar Island, Philippines and franked #319; redirected at least four times, finally ending up in the Dead Letter Office in Manila on Feb 19, 1908; bears at least 19 postal markings including "Unclaimed" & "Unknown". 858 cover 1929.0123 image1929, Pair of C.A.M. 29 "Airgrams" to Lucerne, Switzerland, both franked with Aeronautics Conference commemoratives (two 2¢ & a 5¢), one originating in Beuamont, Tex., the other in Houston, on Jan 23 and both traveling eastward through New York (Jan 26) by surface mail to Switzerland (no Swiss receivers); both open up into large lettersheets, the Beaumont one being a Christmas "Hollygram" with a colorful corner card and a colorful scene of Santa Claus atop a Plane being pulled by Reindeer, Very Fine.
