257 cover 10 imageCrystal Palace 1851 Exhibition Related Cover plus (Scott 10), three items, first is two page letter with the first page being a typed letter signed and hand dated Dec. 8th 1851 by N.S. Dodge, the Secretary of the U.S. Commission to the Industrial Exhibition in London requesting his expenses be paid (with a handwritten portion at the bottom by Dodge) and the second page being a partially printed document with the amount of each expense completed by hand, folded and franked with a 3¢ orange brown, type I (Scott #10) and mailed to Boston, second is a statement sized handwritten letter by M.E. Ailesbury of London dated Feb. 27, 1850 that reads "I venture to for'd you a Circular in reference to the Gt. Exhibition of Industry of all Nations in 1851. It has occurred to me that ??? your influence & Mr. Niemman's (?) … might be reached throughout the town of Marlbro in the hope that you will kindly lend your aid in furthering the objects of this great undertaking. third is a partially printed document signeed by John Sims Reeves, an English tenor, contributing L100 to the Crystal Palace Restoration Fund in 1867, Very Fine trio of items relating to the Crystal Palace, ex-Lippman.
