2L55] ACSC 9(2)z, the Monogram complete, light gum aging, lightly mounted or with small hinge remainders, Cat $6250. The ACSC states (footnote 3) that "The variety does not seem to occur in the first printing ... the appearance of the thick coastline
varies (probably due to makeready) in successive [subsequent] printings and watermarks". Note that on this plate the positions of the monograms were reversed compared to other plates. Gerald Fon's similar strip - fresh but with some uneven perfs -

pairs with the upper units Imperforate at Base and the lower units Imperforate on Three Sides (Horizontally at the Top and Vertically) ACSC 12be (SG 5aa), minor aging in the right-hand margin only with small very lightly aged hinge marks in the
margins and on the upper units, the lower units are very fine unmounted, Cat $190,000+ (£90,000+) for two mounted vertical pairs. Ex 'Artemis'; sold at our auction of 1.12.2021 for $82,600 (Sale 246 Lot 31).
The ACSC states that one sheet - or only 12 vertical pairs - was affected. Of these, only "Eight mint examples have been recorded, comprising two blocks of 4 [each including two vertical pairs], the JBC monogram block of 4, and two vertical pairs
(one damaged)". The damaged pair is in the Australia Post Archival Collection. This is the block illustrated in the ACSC at page 69 (2025 edition).
