The ACSC states in the Introduction that the Specimen overprint variety "is known on No.6 of the overprint forme (exact position yet to be determined) ... [it] probably arose during use and may not occur on all stamps found with Type C overprint".
The overprint forme was a 30-on electrotype plate applied twice on each pane, once on [Pos 1-30] and again on [Pos 31-60]. This stamp suggests the damaged unit is from the upper-right corner [Pos 6], but compare the next Lot and Lot 1489 below which
suggest it is from the lower-right corner [Pos 30]. The extent of the damage on those two Lots is greater than that evident here, which raises the possibility that a similar variety occurs on both [Pos 6] and [Pos 30]. (Image1) (Image2)

right confirming its position from the right-hand side of the pane, well-centred, a couple of slightly shortish perfs at base hardly detract, very lightly mounted, Cat $10,000.

Only 60 formes of 30, or 1800 stamps, were overprinted. The ACSC states that "... five blocks of 4 have been recorded ... at least two blocks of 4 includes sub-type 1 [Damaged (Hooked) 'C']", but does not mention any blocks including Shaved 'P'.
