varieties White Flaw (Large Island) in Gulf of Carpentaria E of Arnhem Land (slightly obscured by the overprint) [Pos L19] and Broken Coast in Bight [Pos L20] ACSC 56(D)g & h, characteristic rough 'fluffy' perfs, the upper-right unit with a tiny
faint aging mark, the upper units lightly mounted, the lower units unmounted, Cat $10,000+ for a block of 4 mounted or $22,000+ for the two varieties without overprint and two unmounted singles.
The ACSC states "2579 stamps were [overprinted with Type B] ... Multiples ... are very rare ... five blocks of 4 are presently recorded". The 'Artemis' block of 4 - clean-cut perfs; all units mounted - sold at our auction of 1.12.2021 for $4720 (Sale
246 Lot 126). Gerald Fon's block of 4 - similar rough perfs; unmounted - sold at our auction of 25.3.2025 for $5520 (Sale 259 Lot 343). Neither of those blocks contained any plated varieties. (Image1) (Image2)
