4915 c imageROTTNEST ISLAND: 1915 (Oct 21) stampless POW cover from Germany with Free cachet to "[name obliterated]/Rottnest Island/West Australia" and endorsed "Informations Bureau 49/Wellington street/ London WC" at lower-left with British 'POST FREE/ PC /PRISONERS OF WAR' cachet, from where apparently sent under cover, ironed-out vertical & horizontal folds. This item probably arrived after the camp was closed 22.11.1915, and would have been forwarded, again under cover, to Liverpool NSW. See EFR at page 205. (Image1) (Image2)

4916 c imageROTTNEST ISLAND: 1915 (Oct 11) stampless postcard with India-ink & pencil illustration of a group of tents & two naked women (!), the message headed "Rtnst Is 11.10.15" states "My dear Wife Your willkom Lettercard and 2 parcels received...I was very sory to hear the attemptet another asold on you please sell out ane shut the place...", to Perth with a very fine strike of the triple-circle 'PRISONER OF WAR LETTER/CMF/5TH MD' cachet in blue and light double-boxed 'PASSED BY/CENSOR' cachet of Perth in greenish blue, light 'SHIP ROOM/ 14OCT15/PERTH/...' cds, light toning on the address side.
