Clause and endorsed on the reverse "Sample of linen-lined envelope referred to, JBC 2/12/15" [=JB Cooke; Commonwealth Stamp Printer] ACSC RE6(P)1, the other with Compensation Clause in Red text on the address side and endorsed "This is the printed
matter at present on the [NSW] envelope, JBC 10/1/16" RE6(P)2, both with small pin-holes from where previously affixed in a file, Cat $4000. The ACSC states that they are "the only recorded examples". The first printing of the KGV Sideface 4d orange

36,000 envelopes with the sub-script were produced. Mark Diserio's two used examples sold at our auction of 3.10.2017 for an average of $948 each.

...' Obliterated ACSC RE14C used to England with KGV 1½d green added tied by 'PORT KEMBLA/MR26/1924/N.S.W' cds cancels and blank red/white R label provisionally endorsed "Port Kembla" alongside, minor bumped edges & some overall soiling, Cat $1500.
On 1.10.1923 the domestic & British Empire letter rates were reduced from 2d per ½oz to 1½ per 1oz, and remainders of old stock were revalued. The ACSC states that this overprint "is another recent discovery, with [no unused and] one used example
cancelled Port Kembla (NSW) on 14 March 1924 reported". Mark Diserio's example - also used at Port Kembla on 19.3.1924 - sold at our auction of 3.10.2017 for $1920. This is now the third example known, all used at Port Kembla. (Image1) (Image2)
