BY/TELEPHONE' slogan machine cancel, light central vertical fold clear of the value indicium & a few minor blemishes, Cat $5000. The ACSC states that "Three examples are recorded, used from Melbourne on 5 and 8 September 1930. The envelopes bear no

used 1932 with Melbourne slogan machine cancel, a couple of minor blemishes, under-catalogued at $1500. The ACSC states that "One unused and three used examples are known". The similar overprint on KGV 'Star' 1d green - three used examples recorded -

non-illustrated. The ACSC states that "The earliest known date of use is 17 September 1930"; this is used almost two weeks earlier and now the earliest recorded usage. The rate was 2d per 1oz domestic letter, increased from 1½d on 4.8.1930 (which

household brands including Castrol, Goodyear, Myer, Orlando Wines, Peters Ice Cream & Penfolds, some interesting usages noted overseas airmails, also 2d green x6 different and 3d red for 'Australian Wholesale Grocery' used May 1951 without added
franking (ACSC Cat $150) and for 'Trustees Executors & Agency' used Aug 1951 with Kangaroo ½d orange added plus some 1951-53 KGVI Crowned Circle 3d green & 3½d red envelopes, some with mostly minor blemishes but generally fine to very fine. A
veritable smorgasbord for both stationery & advertising collectors.
