'Caledonian Collieries Limited', used 1916 to East Prahran, Vic with the flap unsealed and Melbourne cds cancel, light central fold clear of the value indicium & a couple of minor blemishes, Cat $1250. The rate was ½d per 2oz domestic printed matter.
The ACSC states "survival is poor", which tends to be the rule for envelopes designed to deliver what is today described as "junk mail".

1914-37 KGV Sideface 1d red Die I Post Office Issue + ½d green Doubleton ACSC ES16 with no user indicated but used to the "Lutheran
Publ[ishing] Co, Rundle St, Adelaide, SA" with superb strike of 'TARRINGTON/22MR20/VIC' cds cancel, light central vertical fold clear of the value indicia consistent with it having been previously posted under cover, minor inks marks & blemishes, Cat
$7500. An extraordinary hybrid Post Office/Stamped-to-Order issue. The ACSC states that "At least two unused and two or three used examples are recorded ... It is thought likely that the envelopes were ordered ... for the Evangelical Lutheran Synod
in Australia (Hamilton, Vic) ... it is suggested that the two combinations in total comprise the 150 envelopes printed in March 1920". On 28.10.1918 (a mere two weeks before the Armistice), a ½d War Tax was introduced; the envelope was uprated to
meet the combined domestic letter rate plus War Tax. Ex Stephen Schumann: sold at our auction of 22.4.2006 for $3450 (Sale 121 Lot 263). See also Lot 4444 below for a similarly-uprated KGV 'Star' 1d red envelope, being the other "combination"

College, and "almost certainly ordered at the same time as the rare ... ½d Sideface combinations" (see Lot 4422 above and Lot 4444 below). The order is believed to have been that of 15 March 1920, the ACSC further stating that "An example is known
