4160 PSE image1911-12 KGV Fullface Setting 2A (Admonition First Line ends 'to'; Comma after 'Australia') 1d deep grey on grey unsurfaced card with 'SHEEP STATION/WIMMERA, S.A' (sheep in paddock) view the caption amended with 'VIC' Handstamp in black over 'S.A' ACSC LC8(122B), very fine unused, plus a similar 1d sepia on cream unsurfaced card without the amendment, Cat $2300+. Although the ACSC states that the Setting 2 printing of this view is found only on grey unsurfaced card, the second item is on distinctly different stock (and is defintely not on the "ivory surfaced card"). The Wimmera region is located entirely within Victoria. A sarcastic letter to the Melbourne 'Argus' of 13.7.1911 read "... Evidently the [PMG's] department has acted hastily but lazily on the knowledge that the position of the [SA] boundary was recently in dispute". Stock on hand was handstamped the next day, and the ACSC states "it is thought that the view was then removed and substituted for the August 1911 printing. The original view is scarcer than the handstamped correction, but much less sought after". An important duo. (2 cards) (Image1) (Image2) (Image3) (Image4) (Image5)

4161 PSE image1911-12 KGV Fullface Setting 2B (Admonition First Line ends 'to'; no Comma after 'Australia') 1d on greyish/greenish card ACSC LC10 all-different views in various colours comprising nine of the twelve different views available in this printing (ex 'BOTANIC GARDENS/PORTLAND,VIC.', 'NATIONAL PARK/ N.S.WALES' and 'THE TWO BROTHERS/QUEENSLAND'), the 'LAKE ST CLAIR/TASMANIA' a brown/deep purple bicolour, all unused, some mostly minor blemishes but generally fine to very fine, Cat $1500+. We made the point when offering John Sinfield's Letter Cards that these cards from the September 1912 printing represent the last printing of the Fullface issues. A completely new set of electros was created: the stamps all show minor damage at the upper-left corner, in effect a new die state. Also, eleven of the twelve views were completely new, and none of them appear on the September 1911 printing currently listed together with this printing. We believe that this group should be given their own catalogue number, at the end of the KGV Fullface listing, but have retained them here for consistency.
