1944 (circa) two undated POW Postal Cards with different Japanese printing at left both with han of Colonel Suga in scarlet, one
with a minimalist form letter, both with 'POW Camp Borneo' printed on the reverse, to the sender's mother in Wales, faults. Also four different Air Ministry roneo'd letters regarding payments to his mother, the first of 19.4.1943 advising that her
son "has been officially reported as missing", the last of 4.12.1945 advising of his death on 9.7.1945, also similar 1947 Ministry of Pensions advice, all a bit worn with a few faults noted. From the poor condition of the Postal Cards, it is likely
that they were damaged before being used. One has a superb British POW Censor cachet in rosine indicating arrival in England before the war ended. The other has no markings, suggesting arrival in England after the war. A poignant group. Ex Lindsay
Chitty.
