manuscript "Stamped" endorsement and light 'B/172', poorly-struck Singapore boxed despatch backstamp in red, largely very fine 'CALCUTTA/SHIP LETTER' & 'CAL.G.P.O./BG./1/ANN[A]' boxed transit & arrival backstamps in blue, minor blemishes, plus
1850s-60s postmarks selection on India QV issues comprising 'B/172' octagonal numeral of Singapore on 1a brown single & horizontal pairs x3, on 2a yellow/orange x3, on 4a black x2, on 8a red x4 and on 8p purple, and '147' part-duplex of Penang on 8a
red, condition a little variable but generally fine to very fine, Cat £1200+. Ex Dr William Wells.

face and '[ ] A LYON/2/JUIN/72/SPECIAL' partial TPO backstamp, part back flap missing & minor internal repairs. In addition to the letter, a photograph of a European party on board a native outrigger canoe and a pressed leaf are also enclosed.
