POSTAL HISTORY: 1933 (April 14) airmail to England endorsed "Saigon-Marseilles Air Service" with KGV 20c purple & sage-green and $3
green & dull purple (Cat £255+ on cover) tied by two very fine strikes of 'HONG-KONG/AIR MAIL' cds cancels, a couple of very minor closed edge tears not affecting the adhesives or markings. Acceptances for mail to and from Great Britain on the Air
Orient service bagan from October 1932, with the rate from Hong Kong set at $1.60 per ½oz. Mail was carried by sea to Saigon, air to Marseilles, and air & rail to London. The rate was reduced to $1.36 per ½oz from June 1933. The Imperial Airways

AEROGRAMMES: 1933 King Faisal 15f grey-blue with tiny 'REGISTERED AT STATIONERS' HALL' imprint at lower-left, unused. Generally
