1964-65 Australian Birds 9d Magpie original watercolour artwork denominated '5D' with a blue background on thin artboard
(190x270mm) initialled at lower-right "BTW" (= Betty Temple-Watts) and with her pencilled notes below regarding the depiction of the bird and possible minor changes that were not actually proceeded with ACSC 414(E)1, under-catalogued at $5000.
Superb. A spectacular piece of art for an adopted design but with an unadopted denomination, making this a highly significant item and, in our opinion & that of our vendor, the most attractive of all the series of designs prepared for this issue. (Image1)
