LADO ENCLAVE: Belgian Congo adhesives x16 to 50c with various "Lado" or similar manuscript cancels, most also with the retta of
Khartoum, plus 15c & 25c with manuscript cancel & undated eliptical markings, also two Sudan stamps with similar markings, Sudan 5m with manuscript "Lado/6 2 09", and Uganda ½a and 1a both with the retta. Scarce material. A dispute late in 1907
resulted in mail from the Congo being taxed as unpaid. This effectively ended the practice of Belgians sending mail through Sudan, although occasional later use is recorded and the route was reopened during WWI. John Gibson's group of 13 such items,
all with Belgian Congo adhesives, sold at our auction of 12.12.2024 for $1950 (Sale 258 Lot 2990).

1980s mostly unaddressed covers with an apparently all-different array of datestamps from the then-current post offices and postal
agencies, also a good number of internal native usages from small offices, many of the datestamps are well-worn and some are illegible showing that not only Australia Post has disregard for its postal operations.
