1861 Swans Printed by Perkins Bacon in London Perf 14 at Somerset House 4d vermilion SG 40, excellent colour, remarkably
well-centred for this stamp, unused, Cat £600. Ex 'Freemantle' - sold at our auction of 11.7.2008 for $785 (Sale 137 Lot 598) - and 'Dubois' (IV): sold for SFr268. Because of misaligned perforations, virtually every example of this stamp we have seen
has been cut from the sheet to preserve the design. This full-margined example is an undeniable rarity. (Image1) (Image2)
