AEROGRAMMES: 1950 social usage of British formular 'AIR LETTER' with Overprints on GB '6/ANNAS' on 6d tied by British-pattern
'AWALI/10AU/50/BAHRAIN' cds, to California USA. The writer speaks of having had a lengthy illness and suffered significant weight-loss "...seems the war has put more demands on this refinery..." Usage of the Overprints on Aerogrammes is much scarcer
than on envelopes. Awali is an oil-producing area on Bahrain Island that was established in the 1930s by the Bahrein Petroleum Co.
