 1942 Australia-Netherlands Indies Shuttle QANTAS Empire Airways envelope endorsed "Per 1st Air Mail via DARWIN-BROOME-SOERABAJA"
with Qantas 'QEA' blue/white airmail label and 9d Platypus tied by 'RELIEF No.3/-6JA42/SOUTH-AUST' cds in use at Darwin No.1 Military PO, ' 7 /PASSED/BY/CENSOR/ 2 ' diamond cachet used at Darwin (John Little "scarce") on the face but returned with
'NOT TRANSMISSIBLE' handstamp in violet, 'Fickle Fiinger' cachet in red and 'DEAD LETTER OFFICE/ADELAIDE' cds in red all on the face, a few minor blemishes. Due to the Japanese encroachment upon and subsequent invasion of the Netherlands Indies, the
