Postal Card from Suffolk with British censor in rosine, to "Taiwan Camp/Formosa", directed to Camp "4" in red pencil, censor in violet & han of Murakami in scarlet, endorsed "Recd 22.7.44" on the reverse. Remarkably, less than 4 months in transit.
The sender's husband is a POW & "Bubbles" writes: "... Joyce laid-up with poisoned thumb, which is a curse!"; trivial compared to what her husband was enduring. (Image1) (Image2)

AEROGRAMMES: 1964 usage of Baroody Stamp Co aerogramme with the Stamp Omitted with unframed 'CERTIFIED OFFICIAL' and 'ON POSTAL
SERVICE' cachets & on the back superb boxed 'DUBAI POSTAL AUTHORITY/...' cachet all in violet, registered to Massachusetts USA with British-pattern 'DUBAI 1' R label & part-strike on the reverse of bi-lingual '.../14.9.64/DUBAI - 1 /REG' cds, Boston
arrival backstamp of 'SEP/18/1964' in purple. A rare and remarkable survivor.
Readers may be thinking this is just a stampless formular type. However, the letter within, over the name of ET Lorenzo 'Postmaster General/.../Dubai (A. Gulf)' states "...you are so fortunate that this letter is again being written on unstamped
Aerograme [sic] which I found from the stocks after long search". One other used example, also to John Gorman and presumably that intimated at by Lorenzo, is known to us. (Image1) (Image2)

AEROGRAMMES: 1964 (Oct 1) Baroody Stamp Co View of Dubai Town 20np 30np & 40np Jones DAL10-12, unused. Rare. The Baroody supply
contract was cancelled at the end of 1964, after which Dubai embarked on a conservative issuing policy. The very few examples known to us of this issue suggests that the bulk of the order may have been incinerated.

AEROGRAMMES: 1973 '60 Fils' on 25dh Falcon Jones DAL22, six examples Cancelled To Order with very fine to superb bi-lingual cds
comprising single-ring '.../DUBAI' and double-ring '.../AJMAN', '.../FUJEIRAH', '.../Ras Al Khaima', '.../SHARJAH' and '.../U. A. Quewain' all in violet dated between 25FEB1973 and 15MAR1973. The United Arab Emirates was created on 2.12.1971.
Therefore, as intimated by Terry Jones, his DAL22 was actually a UAE issue, presumably for use in Dubai only. However, as indicated here, they may have been valid throughout the UAE, with the possible exception of the "senior" emirate, Abu Dhabi,
which is not represented here.
