at upper-left. Urugal(l)a is about 40km SE of Colombo. Ko Sichang is a small island in the Gulf of Thailand about 25km NNW of Pattaya City.

"Triest.../Austria" with KEVII 25c olive-yellow tied by poor 'COLOMBO/REGISTERED' cds & boxed 'R' cachet alongside, no other postal markings; and 1936 (Feb 2) airmail cover with FX Pereira & Sons (Colombo) imprint on the flap, to "Trieste/Italy" with
KGV Keyplates 30c & 50c tied by Colombo cds; minor blemishes. Long part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Trieste was united with Italy in -.11.1918. The annexation was formalised by -.1.1921 under the Treaty of Rapallo.

in violet, 'AMSTERDAM/23/DEC/00' arrival backstamp, no fewer than nine different postmen's handstamps and very fine strike of the marvellous 'Informatie Burg Stand/ Amsterdam-Vruchteloo' (= ...fruitless search), boxed 'INCONNU' (unknown) & superb
unframed 'REBUT' (return) handstamps, 'AMSTERDAM-ANTWERP/10/JAN/01' TPO & 'COLOMBO/MR5/RETURNED-LETTER- OFFICE' cds (no year) backstamps, a couple of very minor blemishes. A wonderful item. The letter within dated 30.11.1900 & signed "Dr JD Koster"
states - translated - "...[our camp newspaper] ceased to exist after three issues. As it poked fun at politics, it was not very popular with the heads of the camp..." Koster was a medical doctor who had served with a Dutch ambulance unit in South
