1937-43 KGVI 5 rupee watermarked paper (128mm x 72mm) '5/[king]/RESERVE/BANK/OF/INDIA/5', EF.
Most likely retrieved from the wreck of the S.S. Breda by divers in 1992. Laying off the coast of Oban, being part of a convey being assembled bound for Bombay & carrying a mixed cargo including pallets of banknote paper, the Breda was bombed by a
group of Heinkel HE 111 on 23rd December 1940. She was taken under tow and beached in Ardmucknish Bay; the next day a storm swept her into deeper water where she sank. (Image1)
