1660 c image1939 (Oct 28) envelope from "Capt Guy Wilson, Savo, Tulagi" (return address) airmail to London with KGVI Pictorials 1d Warriors, 6d Palms & 1/- Fruit tied by Tulagi cds, very fine 'PASSED BY CENSOR' boxed single-line handstamp in violet on the face, carried via Australia with Townsville (Qld) '5 NOV/1939' slogan machine cancel backstamp then by QANTAS/Imperial airmail service to England, a couple of very minor transmission marks. Early use of this censor cachet at Tulagi, which is not recorded by Little (but does match that used on the cover illustrated by him at page 151). (Image1) (Image2)
