1601 B imageBOOKLETS: 1940 4/8d black/green with two paper clasps in lieu of a staple SG B1 variant, complete with one marginal example each of the KGVI Pictorials ½d to 2/6d from the left-hand side of the sheets so inserted face-up, very fine covers, clasps & wax interleaving, two tiny traces of hinges on the outside back cover otherwise superb, Cat £3250+ for the stapled booklet. Murray Payne Certificate (2005) states "is genuine but not from the original island release; of uncertain status". The Gibbons footnote indicates that some empty booklet covers were available on the island, suggesting additional booklets were made up locally using whatever fasteners were available. An important variant of one of the scarcest booklets of the KGVI period. (Image1) (Image2) (Image3)
