Plains with KGV Heads 2d brown Die I Single Watermark solo franking (ACSC Cat $400) tied by 'OATLANDS/TAS' cds, minor edge faults & a light fold clear of the stamp & markings, a few marks on the reverse. The rate was double 1d per 2oz Commercial
Papers. A scarce stamps on cover: by the time they were issued, the letter rate had decreased to 1½d per 1oz; when it increased to 2d in 1930 these were quickly replaced by the 2d red Die III. See also Lot 503 below. (Image1) (Image2)

1930 (July 23) envelope endorsed "Printed Matter Only" to the Netherlands Indies posted on board ship with KGV 1d green tied by
Batavia 'PAQUEBOT' boxed cachet (previously recorded in 1935 only) and Soerabaja 'VOLKSTELLING ...' slogan cds alongside, Batavia '25.7.30' transit on face where re-directed with 'WELTEVREDEN' boxed cachet in red at base, received there on the same

1934 commercial cover to Adelaide posted aboard ship with KGV 2d tied by boxed 'LOOSE/SHIP NEWSPAPER' handstamp in error & 'LOOSE

1937-41 commercial airmail covers from the Philippines to Victoria x3 or NSW comprising 1937 (July 21) with boxed 'PAR
AVION/(HONGKONG)/VIA AIR MAIL' and the others via Singapore two All Up with amended handstamp and the latest (of 10.09.1941) first by sea with 'TO BE FORWARDED BY/AIR FROM SINGAPORE' jusqu'a handstamp, minor imperfections. A very scarce quartet.
Three of them are Ex Rodney Perry: sold at auction in 2013 for $885.

GIFT/FROM A PRIVATE SENDER/TO A PRIVATE ADDRESSEE' handstamp at base affixed to linen piece, to London with 4d Koala & 1/6d Hermes x2 tied by Sydney Chief Parcels Office hand-rollers, small faults. The rate was 3/4d for a parcel weighing up to 5lbs.
In 1940, the rates were changed to 3/7d up to 7lbs and 5/10d up to 11lbs, both more commonly seen on 'Food For Britain' parcels. (Image1)
