Khartoum (2): 'KHARTOUM/[star & crescent]/10 JU 99/...' fine cancel on Egyptian overprinted 5m Envelope with a largely superb
strike below, native usage to Egypt with 'WADI-HALFA/CAMP' transit (Proud D2) & Alexandria arrival backstamps, the flap removed & a couple of very minor blemishes. PO opened after defeat of The Mahdi in -.9.1898; replaced early-1902 by a new GPO.
