Travelling Post Offices: 'RHOD TPO UP/MR 3/12/[S.RHODESIA]' single-ring skeleton cds (Proud D1), very fine partial strike on Double
Heads 1d red (slightly diffused colour) with a small-part strike alongside. Handbook Very Rare. Used on the Salisbury to Bulawayo service which opened 1.3.1912 and was supposed to run until 28.2.1917, but markings are known to late-1914 only. This
skeleton is recorded for three days from 2.3.1912 to 4.3.1912 only, replaced by a regular double-circle cds (recorded from 23.3.1912 onwards).
