1343 PSE imageFUKUOKA (MIZUMAKI CAMP NUMBER 6B): 1944 (July) simple Japanese POW postal card from an American civilian with light camp censor in violet & very fine han of Kitano in scarlet & on the reverse superb han of Sakamoto, minor defects. Prisoners were used by Takamatsu Coal Mining Co, where conditions were so bad that 74 POWs died. Two senior Japanese officers & one guard were later executed for war crimes. (Image1) (Image2)

1351 PSE imageZENTSUJI CAMP: 1945 (July 6) British 1½d red-brown POW Airmail Postal Card to Zentsuji with 'HOLLOWAY' machine, not forwarded to Japan & returned with 'RAF POSTAL SERVICE' label tied by 'RAF POST ROOM/No 106 PRC/COSFORD' cachet, minor blemishes. Lindsay Chitty states this is the only such item to Japan with a RAF redirection label.
