1961 Native Police 5/- Patrolman complete sheet of 60 with the Sheet Number in Red in the lower-right margin, all units unmounted &
very fine. Unissued. The TPNG Post Office official bulletin of January 1962 stated that a forthcoming issue would feature "a Native Affairs patrol ..." It is believed the issue was abandoned in September 1962 and most of the sheets were destroyed.
The only other complete sheet we have offered - "minor gum bends" - sold at our auction of 22.2.2024 for $7800. Retail $45,000+, for singles.

1953 (July) to NSW correctly rated 6½d for airmail but posted in Australia making the stamp invalid, manuscript "TAX/7d" for double
the domestic letter rate with Parramatta cds and Postage Dues 6d & 1d affixed and pencil-cancelled, minor blemishes. The enclosed letter headed "Ascot Hotel, Kavieng" states: "I have a horrible suspicion that I missed the mail ... am writing this to
you in the hope that I may be able to get one of the crew of the Flying Boat (which leaves tomorrow) to take it down & post it somewhere".
