Grail' of Tasmanian datestamps and the only example we have ever offered. RO only 5.2.1902; closed 11.6.1902. A very fine & complete example sold at a recent online auction for $8250. (Image1) (Image2)

Verona: Two-Line Date 'VERONA/TAS[MA]NIA' (date slugs all inverted) largely fine strike on Pictorial Crown/A 1d. Rated RRR. Renamed
from Havelock South PO 1.7.1906; closed 31.8.1926. The date is problematic: the solo slug could be '13' or '15', both well after introduction of the later cds. It may, however, be a late emergency usage? (Image1) (Image2)

Wybalerma: 'UPPER HUON/9JAN11/[TASMAN]IA' very fine part-strike on Pictorial 2d. Renamed from Upper Huon 4.7.1910 but the old cds
continued in use; renamed Glen Huon 4.2.1911. An unrecognised rarity. To put this in context, John Hardinge provides separate ratings for cds in the pre-1913 period, and for later use. The situation here is far more significant. We believe the cds
should have a separate rating for its period of use during the Wybalerma period, which lasted only 7 months (and for its one month of use after the name change to Glen Huon). This should also increase the rating while the office was actually Upper
Huon, to RRR. Usage at Wybalerma RRRR, and at Glen Huon RRRRR. (Image1) (Image2)
