'LITTLETON/NSW-AUST', no transit or arrival markings. The Empire surface rate was 2d per oz x2 + 3d registration + ½d war tax (revoked 1.7.1949). Littleton is a village 3km SW of Lithgow. Ndola is a copper- mining town, near the Congolese border,

 1949 (July 22) Canadian Pacific Railway Co cover airmail to Quebec with rare solo franking of Robes Thin Paper £1 grey-blue ACSC
217/SG (Cat $3500 on cover with other stamps; unpriced as a solo franking) tied by Sydney cds, blue/white R label & Sydney-Vancouver First Flight cachet AAMC #1222, the reverse with Vancouver transit & Montreal arrival of 26JY/49, light strike of the
large Canadian Customs '...DUTY FREE/...' cachet in violet on the face, small fault at the base. Only five covers have been recorded with the Thin Paper Pound. This is the only solo franking. [The rate was 1/6d per ½oz by an improbable x13 + 3d

 1949 (Oct 1) large parcel piece (folded to 202x204mm) to the British Occupied Zone in Germany with rare franking of Thin Paper £1
grey-blue ACSC 217/SG (exceptional centring; Cat $3500 on cover with other stamps) + Hermes 1/6d black tied by Collins Street (Vic) cds, blue/white R label, part Hannover arrival backstamp of 19.10.49, German 'Vom Empfanger einzuziehen' (= to be
collected from the addressee) perforated label with 'Nichtzollpslichtig' (= no Customs duty) handstamp in red, the reverse with Processed by Customs label & cachet, minor bends & wrinkles. A marvellous item for the usage/rates/parcel/customs
collector. Only five articles have been recorded with the Thin Paper Pound, and this must be the best-centred of the stamps.
For surface parcels to Germany, the highest fee was only 10/1d for an article up to 11lb (weight). Although not stated to be sent by air, the airmail fee - at the letter rate - was 1/6d per ½oz x14 (= 21/-) for an article weighing between 6½ & 7oz +

 1951 (circa) parcel piece with rare franking of Robes Thin Paper 10/- (very well centred; Cat $3000 on cover; + 2d 6d & 1/-) tied
by poor Sydney cds, to Cooma with 'EXPRESS' label, the address label a bit stained. Sold at our auction of 30.11.2019 for $2830. The rate is problematic: from 9.7.1951, the highest parcel rate within Australia was 11/8d (as here) up to 11lb; but this
is an intrastate item, for which the maximum parcel rate was only 4/8d + the Express fee of 9d up to 4lb + 3d for each additional pound (up to 11lb only) x7 = only 86d or 7/2d. Perhaps it was sent at the prevailing letter rate, but why? Solutions are

3d scarlet tied by Sydney 'UNITED NATIONS/DAY/...' slogan. Very scarce. The domestic rate was 3d up to 4oz; the foreign rate was 3d per 2oz.

 1951 (July 10) red/white 'RAFAC URGENT/PRIORITY ONE' label (?) with Air Board imprint at lower-left (200x110mm), airmail to RAAF
Headquarters in London with Arms 5/- tied by South Melbourne slogan. The only such item we have seen. The airmail rate was 2/6d per ½oz x2. However, it was more likely sent at the "Other Articles" (or Second Class Airmail) rate of 2/6d per 2oz x2.
Google insists RAFAC = Royal Air Force Air Cadets, but that name has been used only since 1.10.2017! Suggestions? (Image1)

American-pattern rubber 'MANILA POST OFFICE/FEB/24/1952/FOREIGN MAIL SECTION' arrival backstamp in purple, repaired tear across the flap. The rate was 1/- + 9d registration.
