TRAIN/AUSTRALIA' cds with another very fine strike below, light folds & edge faults including a closed tear affecting one stamp & repaired lower-right corner. The rate was 1/6d per ½oz airmail letter x7 for an item weighing up to 3½oz. Posted at

by Perth WA cds paying the 1/- per ½oz airmail rate, censored locally with red/white 5-dot resealing label at left & 'PASSED BY/CENSOR 3' boxed handstamp in violet on the face and again on arrival with 'DOOR CENSURR GEOPEND' black/white 'enamel'

1940s censored overseas commercial airmails with destinations including Egypt, India, Netherlands Indies at 9d rate (censored
again on arrival) & New Guinea (with Newcastle censor label) but most to the UK noted various at 2/1d airmail from the USA (one a double-rate) and one at 5/10d Pacific & Atlantic Clipper rate (plus 3d for registration), and to the USA a number with
'CALIFORNIA/CLIPPER' handstamps one at 8/- double rate, etc, good variety of censor markings, condition a little variable but generally fine to very fine.

cds, blue/white R label, taxed with 'T'-in-oval handstamp endorsed "10d" in pencil and "Received in Private Bag" in pen, Adelaide arrival backstamp, a few aging marks. The rate was 5d domestic letter + 2/- registration fee (increased on 1.10.1949
