3707 nh image1970-96 Machins Decimal Currency 24p chestnut as SG X969 but Postal Forgery Single Line Perf 11 block of 6 (3x2), unmounted. Gibbons states (QEII Specialised) that "In July 1993 forgeries ... were discovered in the mail stream. These apparently originated from small commercial outlets and were intended to defraud the Post Office. The forgeries were produced by lithography on gummed white paper and are perforated 11 by a line machine". A scarce multiple.

[Lords, Bishops & Members of the Commons were able to send & receive letters free of postage, the cost being borne by the Post Office. Outgoing envelopes had to be signed by the sender. These were avidly sought by autograph collectors.
