Wirreanda: framed 22mm 'WIRREANDA/MA15/81/S-A' (rated RRRR) largely very fine almost complete strike on De La Rue Perf 10 2d orange.
Both Martin Walker and the Handbook state this was the first cds used at Cradock (or Craddock) PO 1.4.1879, and Walker states that the PO was gazetted as "Craddock, Hundred of Wirreanda". However, the Handbook records the first 'CRADOCK' cds from
1880 which, if correct, creates an overlap with usage of the Wirreanda cds. Concurrent usage of two differently-inscribed datestamps at Cradock is highly improbable and suggests that Wirreanda was a separate PO.
