109 og image½d pale emerald with Retouched Upper-Left Corner [Pos 3R19] ACSC 64As, well-centred, small hinge remainder, Cat $22,500 for 'normal' mint (the variety unpriced mint). RPSV Certificate (1999) confirms the plating. One of only twelve known mint examples, and only the second recorded example with a major ACSC-listed variety (the other being in a block of 4; ACSC Cat $100,000). The ACSC lists all Electro 3 varieties in Single Line Perf, but notes that only eight of these have been confirmed to exist: this variety was not previously confirmed as existing in Single Line Perf.

The ACSC states (p37 footnote 1) that "Outside Victoria, the only usages seen are Sydney and Cessnock NSW". This is the first recorded usage of a Single Line Perf ½d in Tasmania. 114 cF image½d dull pale emerald ACSC 64B plus KGV 1d red x2 on cover front to Ohio, USA, then further ½d bright pale emerald ACSC 64B plus KGV 1d red x2 (one with Run 'N' of 'PENNY' variety) affixed alongside all tied by three fine to very fine strikes of 'LATE/FEE - STOCK EXCHANGE/ 18MR16/VIC' duplex cancel, minor staining at left affecting two 1d reds & light stain at right just touching the ½d dull pale emerald, Cat $10,000 for one example on cover. Simon Dunkerley Certificate (2008) stating "extremely rare on cover with only one cover and this front recorded" & Michael Drury Certificate (2008). Apparently the cover was taken to the post office - from which the stamps had presumably been purchased - with the original 2½d foreign letter rate franking, whereupon another 2½d was added from their counter stock to pay the Late Fee. Remarkably, both Half-Penny stamps are Single Line Perf, and this must surely be the only postal article bearing two Single Line Perf stamps in distinctly different shades.
