OVERPRINTED 'OS': 2d scarlet with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 102(OS)a (SG O125w), neat machine cancel, Cat $500 (£3500). Simon Dunkerley Certificate (2008). The ACSC latest edition (2022) states that "Watermark Inverted is scarce ... However, a recent discovery of [an unspecified number of] used stamps has considerably reduced the rarity in used condition" and reduced the catalogue value from $4000 to $500. This re-valuation appears to be extreme: an example with cds cancel sold at our auction of 16.5.2023 for $1680.
