Hawaii, 1899, Statue of Kamehameha I, 5¢ blue. On a beautiful Hawaiian flag illustrated patriotic cover addressed to Piqua, O., tied by "Honolulu, H.I., Nov 17, 1899" duplex,
Honolulu post office rated this as a double-weight cover, applying faint purple "T 25, centimes" handstamp just visible beneath the lowest of the five U.S. 1895, 2¢ Postage Dues (J39) applied in San Francisco, all struck with blue crayon,
black "U.S Charge to Collect 10 cents" handstamp at left indicating double the deficient postage; Hawaiian stamp with some perf toning, otherwise Very Fine, a sensational cover with great eye-appeal. Scott No. 82; Estimate $1,000 - 1,500. (Image1)
