LESS THAN FIVE RECORDED SPECIAL DELIVERY LETTERS FROM HAWAII WITH MIXED FRANKING.

The addressee, J.P. Madau, was one of several brothers who arrived in San Francisco from Germany in 1851, starting a quite successful tobacconist business there. The sender, H.J.Nolte, ran a similar tobacco enterprise in Honolulu as the proprietor of the Beaver Saloon on Fort St.
