October 11, 1852 exhibition broadside (12"x19'', published nine months before exhibition opened) with large woodblock illustration scene of the Crystal Palace and text giving details of the Crystal Palace and upcoming Exhibition; some folds, light wrinkling and tone spots in margins, Very Fine for this, quite rare.

883   imageOffice of the Association for the Exhibition of the Industry of all Nations. Titled letterhead datelined "New York, May 19th, 1854", with letter written and signed by Association President P.T. Barnum regarding a Board of Directors agreement, Very Fine.
Estimate; $200 - 300.

The Association was able to convince P.T. Barnum to take over as President in March of 1854. He quickly reopened the exhibition with a ceremony dedicated to the working classes, but even the great American entrepreneur was not able to salvage the Crystal Palace. He finally resigned his position on the first of July 1854.

884   imagePrize Medals of the Crystal Palace - A.H. Jocelyn, Wood Engraver and Electrotypist, New York. Illustrated advertising lettersheet showing five five different Crystal Palace views for publishers, printers, engravers, etc., one of which ("The Industry of All Nations" bannered view) was used for two different styles applied to covers, Very Fine.
Estimate; $200 - 300.

Albert H. Jocelyn was a New York wood engraver and electrotypist. Between 1849 and 1860, he worked in partnership with other engravers including Childs, Purcell, Whitney and Annin.
