862     1269 imageSteamer S.F.J. Trabue, Capt. J. Tucker (Mississippi River). Red oval handstamp on reverse of 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to New Orleans, struck by red oval forwarder's handstamp "Reshipped By, Watts Given & Co., Mammoth Wharfs, Paducah, Ky." across indicia and postmarked bold "Steam" straight line in black with red "New Orleans Jun. 23" cds at left, entire opened out for display, some hinge re-enforcement along fold, Very Fine and scarce.

This vessel was built 1854 running St. Louis-New Orleans for James Tucker, Master, prior to November, 1855 when it was sold to New Orleans and ran New Orleans-Vicksburg. It burned at Algiers, Louisiana April 10, 1856.

Mar 15" cds and matching "Steam 10" rating handstamp for over 300 miles, manuscript "Shamrock" endorsement, light horizontal fold, Very Fine and rare, this is the only recorded example, Unlisted in Milgram.
