Fancy printed illustration in brown showing the Perry Under Full Steam on cover to Worcester, Mass, franked with 1851 3¢ Dull Red (11A) tied by "Providence R.I. Apr 24" cds with "Steam Boat" straight line alongside, flap tear which extends slightly on to front (neatly mended), also included is two different printed & illustrated freight bill, one from 1856 and one from 1858, Very Fine and choice.

The "Peytona" ran Louisville to New Orleans from her launch in 1846 to dismantling in 1852. Named after a famous Kentucky race horse, her owner, Capt. John Shallcross used the image of a horse on his cachet.
