Right portion of stamp tied by boxed Lagos postmark without date in bottom frame (Schatzkes 665) on cover front to Mexico, with second strike of postmark with manuscript "Franqueada con el negro por 1 real" added in bottom frame, Very Fine, only 60 stamps were issued, incredibly rare with bisect and sello negro combination, ex-Dormer, with 1979 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

The Sello Negro payment record is included in the cancel by a manuscript note "Franqueada con el negro por 1 real" (Paid 1 real with the negro). The postal regulation permitted this practice when stamps had run out and the payment was made without receiving a stamp. But a mixed payment with stamps and sello Negro is extremely rare.
