1389       Washington Territory Postal History Accumulation, 1850-80's. Over 250 cards and covers, many with interesting letters. Many common cancels from towns such as Seattle, Tacoma, New Tacoma, etc. but also quite a few hard-to-find small town cancels such as Centralia, Cheney, Colfax.Dayton, East Sound, Ellensburgh (target, wheel of fortune), Goldendale, La Conner, Montesano, North Yakima, Pasco, Port Townsend, Rockford, Spokane Falls, Satsop, Sprague, Sumner, Walla Walla, etc. There is quite a bit of mixed condition and/or weak cancels worth $5 to $10, but also many better items throughout worth up to $45. Included is a fresh copy of the Washington Territorial Postmark Catalogue 1850 - 1889 by Long and Boardman.

1390       (Expositions) Brockton (Mass.) Fair Postal History Collection. A wonderful collection of picture postcards, illustrated ad covers and a host of other ephemera items neatly displayed and written-up in two large binders; with approximately 180 picture postcards illumination various aspects of the fair as well and a series of beautiful women and horse illustrated advertising cards (lithos. from artist Chas. W. Holmes) and other related, includes real-photo card of President Taft visiting the fair in 1911 with other Taft related cards including additional visit to the fair in 1912, host of birds-eye view of the fair, Equestrian related views including horse races, real-photo parade views, nice section of Knabenshue's Airship and Grahme-White Biplane cards including scarce real-photos, also 1909 & 1910 balloon ascension cards, etc., covers mostly fair adverting from 1892 on including patriotic with flag (endorsed "Balloon"), unused postal wrapper, Columbian entires and illustrated horse & horse racing related advertising cover from 1899 on through to 1919 (some unused), ephemera items including scores of contemporary newspaper articles, tickets, fair books, early photographs depicting trapeze artists, etc.; a wonderful collection and ideal for further continuation.
