Tied by double struck oval "Posted in the Free Philippines / 21 DEC 1943 / M.D. No. 10" with oval "Tenth Military Dist. / Censored" cancel to Colonel Andres Sorian0 GHS - SWPA; couple of minor spots on front, overall Very Fine, Soriano joined General of the Army Douglas Mac Arthur in his campaign to retake the Philippines. With the rank of full colonel he fought from Australia through New Guinea and took part in the Lingayen landing in January, 1945.

2835       imagePhilippines, 1942 Guerilla Mail, USAFFE, Southern Cebu Forces, 2c, 4c, 16c and 20c. Singles of the 2c and 4c Regular Postage with the 16c Registered Mail and the 20c Special Delivery in a se-tenant pair, immaculate and Very Fine.

These stamps were produced by the Southern Cebu Forces (the "SCF" in the design) in the village of Dumanjug. "USAFFE" is for United States Armed Forces in the Far East.
