Philippines, Free Philippines Guerrilla Postal Service, 1943, 2c on Cover. Three singles, all tied by two strikes of purple "Esperanza, Agusan, Philippines, M.O.B., Dec 5,
1943" cds on air mail cover from Commander C. Parsons to Mr. & Mrs. Chas. F. Williams at San Francisco Cal., a Very Fine cover, very rare use of this private WWII military issue. Estimate; $1,500 - 2,000.
THE ONLY RECORDED
TRIPLE-FRANKED USE OF THE FREE PHILIPPINES GUERRILLA POSTAL SERVICE 2¢ BLUE.
With only 500 stamps were issued and 36 covers known, this cover is the only known triple franking usage. All known uses are from military men. This cover
was sent from Col. Charles Parsons, who was a party leader in the Allied Intelligence Bureau. President Manuel Quezon ordered the printing of the two centavos blue for use between Guerilla units in the Free Philippines for the identification and
other purposes. Due to Japanese pressure in all areas, the plan was not carried out and only Mindanao was able to use it. (Image1)

10, 6 AUG 1945" datestamp and used on 6c Air Post entire to military address at San Francisco, matching "Tenth Military Dist., Free Philippines, Censored" oval handstamp, with original enclosure dated June 30, 1945 from Marcelo Patso (Provincial
Governor) thanking recipient for his service; some creases affect indicia and Guerrilla stamp, some toning, enclosure with uneven edge at one side but not affecting any contents, a Fine cover, only 500 printed and a mere 36 covers recorded.
This cover, actually used postally from the provincial governor, is a great rarity, Accompanied by an American Philatelist article discussing this issue and letter from recipient in 1980 describing his role as a Guerilla. Estimate; $750 -
