The Anaheim Lighter Company was founded to move goods from Anaheim Landing in Anaheim Bay to ships anchored offshore. Its primary
purpose was to expedite the shipment of grapes. The water of the landing was very shallow and cargo was moved to ships offshore by lighter. Anaheim Landing was located at the southern end of present day town of Seal Beach. It was Orange County's
first Sea Port. Anaheim Landing became part of Orange County in 1889. (Image1)
