Ireland Collection on White Ace Pages to 2011 in 8 Binders - Largely complete mostly mint collection all neatly mounted on White Ace pages. Includes several Seahorses (few with small faults), then the better sets in the 1940-50's, and finally the modern commemoratives and definitives to 2011. A few duplicates are present within the mounts and we spotted some used stamps on facing pages as well as first days. One of the nicer Ireland collections we have handled to date. Expect SCV to be well over $5000 and condition to be generally fine or better throughout. (Est $1200-1500)

Italy Pre-WW2 Collection and Accumulation - Mostly hinged on quadrille pages, starts out used with some scattered unused with several better values. In the 1920's the collection becomes mostly unused. The back of book has nice airmail and semi-postal sets. Current SCV is over $7000 (with stockpages and glassines not counted) but expect some mixed condition, especially on the early issues, and many stamps have pencil marks on back. Altogether they hold over 600 mint/used stamps, part sets, complete sets, and includes a couple dozen FDCs, cards and an envelope of unprocessed material. SCV is over $2300 in which we note used Scott 20a, 86-7, and unused Scott 28-30, 70, and then plenty of modern era sets. No real heavy hitters but does include several National Park and Lottery sheets (some MNH), first airmail set Scott C1-5, along with a few early and questionable issues that may be OK. SCV totals over $7500. The last couple binders hold full sheets, likely postage, and the black binder holds excess material that is not counted. A solid start to a still popular area of collecting. Japan 1934 Handpainted Karl Lewis First Day Cover Signed by Fuchida - Captain Mitsuo Fuchida (1902-1976) was the leader of the first wave of air attacks on Pearl Harbor 12/7/1941. On 4/5/1942 he also led the air attacks against Ceylon as part of the Japanese Indian Ocean raid. This first day cover features Scott C4 (March 1, 1934) with handpainted Karl Lewis cachet. Japanese Intervention Forces Postcard, 1920 Siberia - Japanese Military Field postcard to Japan, franked with Japanese 2nd F.P.O. CDS 9.5.10 (10 May 1920). and a weak censor chop alongside the cancellation. Located at Nikolsk, North of Vladivostok. The sender's address indicates that he was serving with the 14th division. Mail from the Japanese Intervention Forces is very scarce. There is some light staining on the card and one corner has some damage. (Est $175-250) (Image) (Image2)
