China: 1928 Tsinan (Jinan) Incident - 3 May Tragedy in China, Japanese special release set of 9 with original cover. The set depicts this rare 4 party involved arms clashes in Tsinan between 3-11 May 1928. Then the Chiang Kai-shek's Nationalist Kuomintang (KMT) government lead National Revolutionary Army (NRA) was ousting Peking's Peiyang warlord Chang Tsung-chang (Zhang Zonchang), it was in clash with the Imperial Japanese Army. In addition, Russia's Red Army soldiers were also joining force & fight along with NRA. Equally impressively, one piece also photographs propaganda from the enemy Chiang Kai-shek's Nationalist Kuomintang (KMT) government. China: Late 1930s The Dawn of Peace in East Asia - The Vestiges of China Emergency at Nanking (Nanjing) Japanese military mail postcard set of 16 with original cover. The set depicts the scenes of Nanking City right after it fell into Japan's hand in Dec 1938, as Nanking was then capital of China & this set of postcards photographing this event was of significant propaganda value. It not only depicts the war ravaged buildings, walls, historic sites of the city but also the civilians calmly walking across the city, inc ruins from the war & thus tries to paint a business-as-usual illusionary picture to serve the purpose of the propaganda 'Dawn of Peace'.
