Prof. Wilhelm Dachauer was the artist who created the four impressive motifs for the commemorative stamps which were issued for the Vienna Spring Fair of 1941. The lettering “Deutsches Reich“ under his first motifs show distinct

The four photo essays on the presentation carton show the first motifs of the 1941 Vienna Fair stamp issue. The stamp of 3 (Rpf) later was given a completely different motif. For stamps of other values the inscriptions were modified. On
the 25 (Rpf) stamp horse and rider were directed to the right hand side hence to the East. That was by order of the Ministry of Propaganda. (Image)

VIENNA FAIR of 1941 Each of the two stamps of this issue was created by another artist. The motif for the 12+8 (Rpf) was created by Prof. Puchinger. This photo essay of his first draft survived . Against the finally issued stamp the motif
shows the figures 8+7 (left) and 7+8 (right) in the corners. For this UNIQUE item a collector in Los Angeles offered in 1977 the price of 1000 US dollars, then sensational. (Image)
