The post office was opened in 1902 and closed in 1928. In the early 1990's, Crete was abandoned and is considered a dispersed rural community. Letter addressed to a Mr. Henry Kennedy in Broaddus, Texas sent by Ms. Emma Kennedy of Pennington Texas. Condition is fair with some staining, roughly opened on the left and creased along the bottom.
