Sam Houston Philatelics Sale - 3079

Internet and Mail Sale - January 27, 2021

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 600 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike, including a selection of over (20) graded items. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are about (60) U.S. lots, with a few early issues. There are (10) lots of Exposition and Bureau Issues (Columbian through Pan-Pacific) with a few graded Washington/Franklins. The late 1890's and Early 20th Century issues total (23) lots including a NH White Plains (#630) Souvenir Sheet of 25 the 1930 to Date section has (11) lots with a couple uncut press sheets for your consideration.

  • COVERS, There are (38) Cover lots; Commercial (4) with some inaugural day covers; and (34) First Day covers; an interesting and nice selection of covers.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains about (40) lots of Airmails and Back of Book issues, which includes (4) Graded issues including a couple GEMS. Also some nice newspapers, and a SUPERB $1.00 Parcel Post. A selection of (7) lots of Confederate States is also offered.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, a few (11) lots of various imperforate, mis-perforations, color mis-registration, and including a rare 2146 Imperf Block of 4 (estimated only 8 exist).

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (34) assorted Autographs and miscellaneous items. Includes 1893 Columbian Exposition tickets and a wonderful set of postcards. Also, a couple non-duck prints - one of President Teddy Roosevelt; several Remarqued postage stamps, some Cinderellas and Fractional Currency, and a signed photograph of Cary Grant.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, (104) lots with a variety of countries including: about (30) Canadian lots, with some nice classic issues; sets and singles from Great Britain (great selection of early officials), France, Japan, Mexico, and others, including a used XF Russia #3. There are (22) collections that include Australia, Great Britain and Colonies, Mexico, and South Africa. There is also an interesting basketball topical group.

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (300) lots, which includes (26) Souvenir Cards and FDC's and (3) Federal collections; (4) Junior Duck stamps, a nice selection of (36) Federal Plate Number Singles, (59) Federal Duck singles and plate blocks; (10) Press Sheet pieces, (9) Duck Errors, and about (38) Federal and State Artist Signed; a selection of (67) State Duck stamps, (9) Governor's Edition lots, and (21) Reservation, Conservation and Fishing items. The sale ends with a selection of (16) Prints; (6) Federal, and (10) State Duck Prints, with (6) First of State prints (AK, AZ, GA, LA, WA, and WV). Quite a selection of prints, from which to choose!
